With the pandemic still going pretty strong, and things continuing to be locked down, we booked our spots early to get photos with Santa at the same tree farm that we did last year. We’re so glad that we did because all of the time slots for this shoot sold out really fast, and all the other options of photos with Santa aren’t what we’re looking for… We just don’t want him Photoshopped in the background of another photo.
Even though we only have a 5-minute time slot to talk to Santa and get the photos taken, that’s better than the alternatives. Due to torrential rains (this was shot the day before the big floods in the Lower Mainland) there were accidents on the highway, people were driving incredibly slow, and we were almost late for our timeslot. We ran from the parking lot and straight into the barn for our photos with only a very short break, so I feel like the kids weren’t really given any time to adjust, so Addison did get a little nervous around Santa as she has in year’s past. The upside to this is that we got some very nice photos of Addison staying really, really close to dad… not letting go of him at times. Addison did explain in great depth what kind of rocket she wants, which Santa was impressed with.
On the other hand, Colin had a lot of things that he wanted to talk to Santa about. Colin spoke for a couple of minutes straight about all the things in his line of sight. There were lots of trinkets decorating the barn, and he wanted to talk about them all. He quite liked the little Santa in the lantern just to the right of Santa. Colin then filled in Santa with all the things he wants.
Santa remembers these kids well and remembers all the past years that he’s been getting his photo taken with him, going all the way to before their first birthday.
The photos turned out pretty good, and we ended up buying the whole photo package of photos since we haven’t had any ‘nice’ photos of us shot as a family since the photos we had done for Mother’s Day. I won’t show all the photos large here as I have in the past, but you can scroll down to the gallery to see them all.

If you’d like to download any of the images, here’s a link to all of them on Dropbox. You can either view the images you’d like to download, or you can download all of them. I’ll leave this link up until the New Year (we can always upload them again if you miss it).
