Colin and Addison in front of Capilano’s Trout Pond.
The Vancouver area “Tourism Challenge” started this past weekend, so we need to get out there and start collecting our stamps. We started at Capilano Suspension Bridge and got there as soon as they opened since we were trying to hit 2 attractions in the morning. We’ve been to Capilano plenty of times, but this was the first time the kids were old enough to really look around and take it all in. I was really hoping they were going to have the birds out so that Addison and Colin could see an Owl in real life since it’s one of their favourite animals, but none of them were out yet.
After about 45 minutes, we were off to Maplewood Farm to see what animals were around and that the kids could spot from some of the books that they read. Addison started off pretty apprehensive as soon as we walked in and saw the Shetland Pony. She immediately started saying “no like, no like”, but this faded away after about 5 minutes of being there. I think she was blown away by how big even the smallest animals were. By the time we got over to see the full-size horses, she was totally into it.
