Camping at Sasquatch Provincial Park, Harrison Hot Springs

This camping trip was a bit sporadic in that we got a cancellation spot, and we’d never been up to Harrison Hot Springs for the weekend. This was only about an hour and a half drive from our house, so it was a perfect little 2-day trip. The weather was nice and warm, and there must have been a full moon or something going on because all the kids in the campsite were going crazy when the sun went down. We had kids on both side of our site that cried through the night, and we were really lucky that Colin and Addison didn’t notice it and jump in on the screaming and crying fun.

But they did wake up at about 5 am each morning, so it’s pretty difficult to keep them relatively quiet until 7 am when other people started waking up. Overall, we did pretty well for this being either our second or third camping trip for the kids this summer. We did have to go out for long drives around Harrison for their naptime, so we got to see a lot of the area we quietly drove around, which worked out well for us.

We stopped in at The Farm House, a small artisanal cheese shop and with a hobby farm so that the kids could see the goats and cows, and we discovered a handful of brand new kittens that the kids really liked.

We stuck pretty close to the campsite and did a quick hike around one side of Hicks Lake before we turned around. It was bloody hot, and we had the kids in our child carrier backpacks, so we jumped in the lake after and had a nice swim to cool off.
