Lights at Lafarge visit

This free event at Coquitlam’s Town Centre Park was on our list of things to take the kids out to see. With more than 100,000 lights on display, they’d surely get a kick out of it. And it’s free, so that’s always nice. Parking cost us $0.38, so nothing to complain about there. It was a chilly night to be out with the kids, but we knew it was likely the only night that we could make happen. We decided to wear the kids around because there was lots of snow and ice on the ground, so this would be much easier, and they’d probably stay a few degrees warmer being so close to us. We bundled the kids up in their little bear suits which were very cute. I wasn’t sure we’d get to put the kids in these suits because it rarely gets that cold here—but they sure came in hand on this night.

There was 10 different themed zone this year, wrapping all the way around the park. There was a 90-foot framed caterpillar, the Walk on the Wild Side area that has a woodland creature and illuminated flowers, a huge waterfall made out of animated lights that were pretty incredible to see (better from a bit of a distance).
